Wine Information:
Archives:
Delta Zetas and friends journey to Oxford, Ohio, home of Miami University and where our beloved Sorority was founded in 1902. While there they tour the beautiful National Historical Museum and Headquarters, where the Sorority’s story is preserved for future generations to cherish and maintain. Our home is a commitment to tomorrow. It is an affirmation of the ideals and principles upon which the Sorority was founded and our belief in their continued value for those yet to come.
We introduce you to Archives. Our Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara County experiences a lengthy and cool growing season that is similar to the climate of the Burgundy region of east-central France. Unlike Burgundy, our Pinot Noir experiences dense fog that rolls in off the Pacific Ocean; this fog contributes to the ideal climate for Pinot Noir, offering just enough moisture to be beneficial without lingering too long.
Archives has aromas of cherries, raspberries, blackberries, and brown sugar with notes of baking spices. On the palate, the wine opens with bright, fruit flavors of strawberries, leading to a round mouthfeel on the mid-palate and soft, velvety tannins on a long, elegant finish.
The Loving Cup:
The Legend of the Loving Cup was introduced to Delta Zeta in 1916. Eros, God of Eternal Love, gave a three-handled cup to a young maiden as a pledge of his enduring fellowship. Delta Zeta chapters were given loving cups when they were installed, with the beautiful ceremony accompanying this special treasure. The three handles of the cup represent the love, the unity and the unbroken friendship which encircle members of Delta Zeta to this day.
As you raise a glass of The Loving Cup, remember the circle of sisterhood supporting you throughout your Delta Zeta journey.
We introduce you to The Loving Cup. This Chardonnay is a real gem. Hailing from the cool and foggy climate for the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County, this beautiful medium-bodied wine was grown slowly to build intense flavors over time. This wine was aged in French oak and displays a beautiful balance of fruit, oak and liveliness on the palate and exhibits lush mango and toasted almond. Balanced fruit with tarte acidity makes this wine a classic example of Premium Russian River Chardonnay.
EMPOWERED:
Delta Zeta sisters are empowered to take action and inspire others in the world they live in. Women of distinction in our Sorority inspire others through their achievements and their courage to break the mold. We could toast hundreds of thousands of sisters for their accomplishments stretching from 1902 through today. By sharing stories of empowerment it inspires future generations to continue the legacy of the women who have paved the way before us.
We introduce you to Empowered. Our proprietary red blend always exhibits the craft of blending, where all the parts complement the round character of the final wine. Deep dark saturated color, with spicy plum and black cherry, tobacco, cinnamon, and floral and camphor hints on the nose while on the palate it is voluptuous, dark fruited, juicy, round and long lasting with currant, dark chocolate, roasted beets and a persistent finish in this full-bodied wine.
The Rose:
Few symbols mean as much to Delta Zetas as the Killarney rose. A symbol of gratitude, grace, admiration and joy, the rose is the blend of red of courage and the white of purity. Each of us comes to Delta Zeta as a bud, a new member, and through our Delta Zeta experience blossom into the women we are today.
We introduce you to The Rose. This premium sparkling wine – meticulously and artfully made in the traditional champagne method – rivals anything found from the best Champagne houses in Épernay and Reims. Blended superbly from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this magnificent Napa Valley Brut exhibits rich fruit aromatics of strawberry and delicate white cherry that follows through to a creamy mid-palate accompanied with highlights of lime and wet minerality and a lingering vibrant finish.
The Patron:
Dr. Guy Potter Benton was President of Miami University at the time of Delta Zeta’s founding in 1902 and was instrumental in working with the Founders in the early development of the Sorority. For his great and continued interest in the Sorority, Dr. Benton was made Grand Patron, a position of honor he held for the remainder of his life. He was the only man ever permitted to wear the Delta Zeta badge. Together, we raise a glass to our Grand Patron, in honor of his loyalty and the legacy which he helped build.
We introduce you to The Patron. Our flagship Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic representation of the appellation’s preeminent varietal. Notes of of black cherry, blackberry and plum are complemented by hits of toasted oak, dried currant and baking spice. Fine-grained tannins and ample brightness on the palate give way to a polished mouthfeel and exceptionally long finish.
everlasting:
“May the friendships we make, and the kindliness we have for each other, be everlasting.”
Founder Alfa Lloyd Hayes, who served as Delta Zeta’s National President from 1908-1912, wrote those words to delegates at the Golden Anniversary Convention in 1952.
Delta Zeta members know that our sisterhood is everlasting. Though the years and decades may pass, the friendships we’ve made with each other sustain us for life.
Cheers to celebrating our everlasting friendship!
We introduce you to everlasting. Our 2021 Rosé of Cabernet Sauvignon. The watermelon and strawberry notes burst out of the glass. When served cool on a warm day, the juicy acidity of the 2021 Rosé makes for a very refreshing and versatile wine, perfect to share on any occasion. Look for the hidden imagery in the rose petals.
