Wine Information:

Erskine:

Erskine Mayo Ross, born in Culpepper County, Virginia, in 1845, entered VMI in 1860. He moved to California after the civil war, studied law at night, and was admitted to the California bar in 1869. Elected a Justice of the Supreme Court of California 10 years later, he was reelected in 1882. He was appointed a judge of the U.S. Southern District of California in 1886 and the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in 1895. He was the founder of the city of Glendale, California. Rossmoyne, a suburb of Glendale, perpetuates his name and fame. He died Dec. 10, 1928. Possessed of personal courage and strong quiet judgement, Judge Erskine Mayo Ross left his Fraternity a $5,000 bequest, which established the ATO Foundation Fund.

We introduce you to Erskine. The 2019 Founders Red Wine is an artful red blend created by winemaker Todd Heth. This wine exhibits dark blackberry, bing cherry and plum notes perfectly into layers of coffee and tobacco. The finish is dry with long lasting berry fruit. Silky but firm tannins, this wine is enjoyable now but has the ability to age well in the cellar.

Triad:

A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Alpha Tau Omega, founded at VMI in September 1865; Kappa Alpha Order founded at Washington & Lee in December 1865; and Sigma Nu, founded at VMI in January 1869 are the three cords of the Lexington Triad. Throughout their history ATO, KA and Sigma Nu have cultivated the special relationship to the benefit of their interfraternal brothers and fellow fraternities. The Lexington Triad contributes a rich and enduring story-line to the American fraternity movement.

We introduce you to Triad. This elegant white wine blend is alluring and complex, with a sensuous offering of tropical fruits, white flowers and subtle spice. The nose is like a bouquet of flowers and jumps from the glass with ripe lemon, white peach and orange blossom followed by notes of toast and white pepper. On the tongue, lemon bursts forward with pineapple and other tropical fruit, with undertones of vanilla. The finish is bright and zingy and mellows with vanilla and subtle spices in its length.
