Theta’s Friendship Fund was created to help members experiencing extreme financial hardship. While it was established in 1926, the Fund’s anniversary is celebrated when its first gifts were collected: Founders Day 1927. As we celebrate 100 years of the Friendship Fund, we are reminded that friendship is at the Heart of Theta.
This label features artwork by Katie Carlsen, Epsilon Epsilon/Baylor. It was inspired by an archival item from the 1940s, when Thetas were encouraged to give one penny for each year of membership. Katie is a visual artist from Bradenton, FL, and though her work primarily focuses on the natural landscape of her home state, this label was conceived from her steadfast love for Kappa Alpha Theta.
We introduce you to Heart of Theta. The 2023 vintage will be remembered for its cool conditions throughout the summer and into harvest, shaping a beautifully expressive Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley. Layered aromas of blackberry, baking spices, cranberry, cardamom, anise and floral rose burst forth on the nose, while zingy cherry juice, cola nut, black tea, pomegranate, and hints of lemon zest unfold on the palate of this lush round Pinot that is braced by bright acidity.
