Cardinal: 

The Lamar Cardinals were born in 1932 as a part of an initiative established by Judge J.M. Combs to transform South Park Junior College to Lamar. Then coach and athletics director John Gray changed the mascot from the Brahmas to the Cardinals to signify this new beginning. The story goes that the Cardinals were chosen because it was also a certain midwestern baseball team’s mascot of whom Gray was a fan, and the professional team physically closest to Beaumont, Texas.

We introduce you to Cardinal. This flagship Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic representation of the appellation’s preeminent varietal. Notes of black cherry, blackberry and plum are complemented by hits of toasted oak, dried currant and baking spice. Fine-grained tannins and ample brightness on the palate give way to a polished mouthfeel and exceptionally long finish.

Glorious: 

The bells at Provost Umphrey Stadium, which are rung after the Cardinals score a touchdown or field goal, were originally added to the game day experience in 1967.
