Wine Information:
1901:Â
1901 marks the beginning. Since our founding, more than 345,000 men have been shaped through the Virtue, Diligence and Brotherly Love learned through their commitment to Sigma Phi Epsilon. And just as “the twelve” created a lasting legacy in 1901, each brother since has promised to leave his mark on the world through “any worthy endeavor.”
We introduce you to 1901. Our Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara County experiences a lengthy and cool growing season that is similar to the climate of the Burgundy region of east-central France. Unlike Burgundy, our Pinot Noir experiences dense fog that rolls in off the Pacific Ocean; this fog contributes to the ideal climate for Pinot Noir, offering just enough moisture to be beneficial without lingering too long.
1901 has aromas of cherries, raspberries, blackberries, and brown sugar with notes of baking spices. On the palate, the wine opens with bright, fruit flavors of strawberries, leading to a round mouthfeel on the mid-palate and soft, velvety tannins on a long, elegant finish.
Serenade:Â
An ode to those who are most special to us, the Serenade Chardonnay was inspired by our loved ones and the songs we sing about them. Drawing on the design from one of the earliest SigEp Song vinyls, the art deco-style label reflects the time-honored tradition of our Fraternity and its sweethearts. Much like our songs, this wine reflects the strength of our brotherhood and our devotion to those we hold dear.
We introduce you to Serenade. This Chardonnay is a real gem. Hailing from the cool and foggy climate for the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County, this beautiful medium-bodied wine was grown slowly to build intense flavors over time. This wine was aged in French oak and displays a beautiful balance of fruit, oak and liveliness on the palate and exhibits lush mango and toasted almond. Balanced fruit with tarte acidity makes this wine a classic example of Premium Russian River Chardonnay.
SigEp Icons Series - Uncle Billy:Â
William Lazell Phillips, better known to brothers as “Uncle Billy,” dedicated much of his life to SigEp. Uncle Billy served in many roles, including as the Fraternity’s first Grand Secretary, first editor of the SigEp Journal and Grand President. Laying the foundation of what SigEp is today — a pioneer among fraternities — he founded dozens of new chapters while traveling to campuses around the country and publishing stories that kept alumni connected long after graduation. Each release of the SigEp Icons Series will feature a new SigEp Icon. We couldn’t think of a better first choice than Uncle Billy. This full-bodied red blend reflects Uncle Billy’s unrelenting energy and bold spirit.
In his honor, we introduce you to SigEp Icons Series - Uncle Billy. This proprietary red blend – from our award-winning winemaker Todd Heth – exhibits dark blackberry, bing cherry and plum notes perfectly into layers of coffee and tobacco. The finish is dry with long lasting berry fruit. Silky but firm tannins, this wine is enjoyable now but has the ability to age well in the cellar.
Golden Heart:Â
The golden heart is the eternal emblem of Sigma Phi Epsilon and our inaugural Sparkling Brut. The bond between brothers is true friendship and can never be broken and is best exemplified by the decades of service given by the recipients of SigEp’s highest honor, the Order of the Golden Heart. Gather together and raise a glass of Golden Heart Brut to rejoice with your brothers and celebrate the love you share with SigEp.
We introduce you to Golden Heart. This premium sparkling wine – meticulously and artfully made in the traditional champagne method – rivals anything found from the best Champagne houses in Épernay and Reims. Blended superbly from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this magnificent Napa Valley Brut exhibits rich fruit aromatics of strawberry and delicate white cherry that follows through to a creamy mid-palate accompanied with highlights of lime and wet minerality and a lingering vibrant finish.
The Red Door:Â
A symbol of welcome and brotherly love, the Red Door is a legacy that’s nearly a century old in our Fraternity. In the 1920s, members of our New York Alpha chapter at Syracuse University painted the front door of their chapter house the Fraternity’s signature color. This tradition quickly spread throughout the country, with each chapter home now having a red door. The Red Door signifies that – wherever you find it – you are home and welcome to walk through and share the brotherhood of Sigma Phi Epsilon. This bottle brings the Red Door to your home.
We introduce you to our flagship Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, The Red Door. This is a premium and classic representation of the appellation’s preeminent varietal. Notes of black cherry, blackberry and plum are complemented by hints of toasted oak, dried currant and baking spice. Fine-grained tannins and ample brightness on the palate give way to a polished mouthfeel and exceptionally long finish.
Fairwinds 2021 RosĂ© of Cabernet:Â
Our Rose of Cabernet 2021 hails from the Russian River Valley, offering a delightful expression of Cabernet Sauvignon in rosé form. Vibrant aromas of fresh strawberries and watermelon precede flavors of red berries and citrus zest. A crisp acidity and a hint of floral notes on the finish make this rosé a perfect companion for sunny days.
