For Alpha Phis, the original Alpha house was the promise of eternal sisterhood and friendship, a safe place to land and a home away from home. This is where our early members spent hours dreaming of the ways they would shape the future for the next generation of women. Alpha Phi proudly established the first chapter house for women in North America in 1886. After planning, persevering, saving funds and designing a floorplan that brought their dreams to life, members welcomed more than 300 guests to celebrate their milestone in home ownership. The aesthetic gems of the home were the stained-glass windows featuring circular designs in earth and jewel tones, as well as the beloved Lazy Phi design. If eyes are windows to the soul, the windows at the Alpha house were loving eyes gazing out over the chapter sisters as they made history.

Dare to be the first.

We introduce you to The First. Our 2021 The First Pinot Noir is from the Russian River Valley AVA of Sonoma County. This beautiful wine is influenced mostly by the fog of the AVA and is very aromatic, with a velvet mouthfeel and has a fruit character that is ripe and intense.

Tasting Notes

From the fog-kissed vineyards of Russian River Valley, this 2021 Pinot Noir is a beautiful expression of its cool-climate origins. It unfolds with a captivating aromatic bouquet of ripe blackberry, cranberry, and floral rose, elegantly layered with warm baking spices, cardamom, anise, and subtle earth. On the palate, vibrant cherry juice and pomegranate lead a lush profile accented by notes of cola, black tea, and bright lemon zest. Silky and velvet-textured with bright acidity, the wine offers a perfect balance of ripe fruit intensity and refreshing finesse.
