He became a mainstay in the postseason, with an 18-12 (.600) NCAA tournament record and an 11-6 (.647) mark in the NIT. Tubbs put LU in the national spotlight guiding the team to three conference titles, two NCAA appearances and the 1980 Sweet 16. A seven-time coach of the year, Tubbs coached 11 different teams to the NCAA Championships including five Sweet 16s and the 1988 NCAA runner-up.
We introduce you to our Legend Series, honoring Billy Tubbs. This proprietary red blend – from our award-winning winemaker Todd Heth – exhibits dark blackberry, bing cherry and plum notes perfectly into layers of coffee and tobacco. The finish is dry with long lasting berry fruit. Silky but firm tannins, this wine is enjoyable now but has the ability to age well in the cellar.
