Women have fought for recognition of their contributions in the workforce for hundreds of years. Until relatively recently, it was almost impossible for a woman, no matter her skills, abilities and education to enter most professions. The roadblocks have been numerous, but women never gave up. Seeing the need to support women in this endeavor, Fraternity Council established the Order of the Delta Gamma Rose in 1951. It is the highest award presented by the Fraternity and honors alumnae members who have made distinguished contributions to the nation and/or the world.
