Order of the Rose:
Women have fought for recognition of their contributions in the workforce for hundreds of years. Until relatively recently, it was almost impossible for a woman, no matter her skills, abilities and education to enter most professions. The roadblocks have been numerous, but women never gave up. Seeing the need to support women in this endeavor, Fraternity Council established the Order of the Delta Gamma Rose in 1951. It is the highest award presented by the Fraternity and honors alumnae members who have made distinguished contributions to the nation and/or the world. May each glass you enjoy be a reminder of those who came before us and made the path a little easier for all who come after.
We introduce you to our flagship Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Order of the Rose. This is a premium and classic representation of the appellation’s preeminent varietal. Notes of black cherry, blackberry and plum are complemented by hints of toasted oak, dried currant and baking spice. Fine-grained tannins and ample brightness on the palate give way to a polished mouthfeel and exceptionally long finish.
Bronze 1883:
Bronze, pink and blue. Saying these colors is synonymous with Delta Gamma. The newest (and historically most controversial) of Delta Gamma’s official colors, bronze, was added during the 1883 Convention. Members of Sigma and Alpha requested the colors be changed due to other organizations on their campuses using pink and blue and did not want Delta Gamma to be confused with these other groups. While bronze was chosen, it proved to be a controversial decision. Challenges were made to it at every Convention until 1907. Some members expressed that bronze-colored items were too difficult to find. Nevertheless, bronze remained one of the official colors and was used for the Council badges, as pictured on this bottle, prior to 1948.
We introduce you to Bronze 1883. Balancing the fullness of fruit with the dance of elegance, this 2021 Chardonnay Napa Valley exhibits purity of fruit with melon and poached pear, then lemon custard and faint toastiness on the nose while exotic fruit notes of mango and pineapple mesh with the vanilla and spicy wood from French oak in this medium bodied wine that finishes on a sweet note.
