Wine Information:
The Diamond:
One of our symbols from the very beginning, the diamond is instantly recognizable to all Alpha Delta Pi members, and it is only fitting that our champenoise is named for the brightest of jewels. Our founding sisters included “We Live For Each Other” on their beautiful gold badges as represented on the label. A modern touch is shown in the background with one of the new diamond-inspired patterns created for our recently updated brand.
We introduce to you, The Diamond. This premium sparkling wine – meticulously and artfully made in the traditional champagne method – rivals anything found from the best Champagne houses in Épernay and Reims. Blended superbly from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this magnificent Napa Valley Brut exhibits rich fruit aromatics of strawberry and delicate white cherry that follows through to a creamy mid-palate accompanied with highlights of lime and wet minerality and a lingering vibrant finish.
King 1010:
Our King 1010 pays homage to Atlanta’s Claude and Clara Belle King family who owned the beautiful home in the Druid Hills Historic District of Atlanta where our Memorial Headquarters now resides. The home, completed in 1910, originally held the address 1010 Ponce de Leon Avenue. Now recognized by Alpha Delta Pi members as 1386, our Memorial Headquarters houses important historical archives and exhibits as well as office space.
Our Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara County experiences a lengthy and cool growing season that is similar to the climate of the Burgundy region of east-central France. Unlike Burgundy, our Pinot Noir experiences dense fog that rolls in off the Pacific Ocean; this fog contributes to the ideal climate for Pinot Noir, offering just enough moisture to be beneficial without lingering too long.
King 1010 has aromas of cherries, raspberries, blackberries, and brown sugar with notes of baking spices. On the palate, the wine opens with bright, fruit flavors of strawberries, leading to a round mouthfeel on the mid-palate and soft, velvety tannins on a long, elegant finish.
Loyally:
For over 100 years, Alpha Delta Pi sisters have signed their messages to each other with a single word that exemplifies our commitment to each other – Loyally. This word has a special meaning for all ADPis and was even used to memorialize the history of our sisterhood in a three-volume book set. In 1925, Eloise Talent, Alpha Tau—Syracuse, wrote to The Adelphean, “Until life’s sunset parts our ways, we will leal and loyal be. And through the years will ring our praise, Oh, Alpha Delt to thee.”
Our Loyally label includes a beautiful watercolor from the cover of a 1909 program from our convention in Georgetown, Texas. Note the Alpha Delta Phi badge represented in the artwork. Our signature azure blue rounds out the design with the border and bottle foil.
We introduce to you, Loyally. From the chalky soil of the Carneros region in southern Napa Valley, this gem exhibits lush green apple and bright grapefruit notes while dancing across your palate. This stunning wine is light and friendly with very subtle vanilla and pear blossom hints on the nose. Balanced fruit with tarte acidity makes this wine a classic example of Premium Napa Chardonnay.
True Spirit:
“I believe that our motto, We Live for Each Other, expresses the true spirit of fraternity, and that by living this motto, my life will be enriched by true friendships and by unselfish service to mankind.” This line from The Creed of Alpha Delta Pi perfectly captures our sorority’s purpose and call to action. In 1851, our founders penned our motto – a phrase we honor today with our inaugural Four Points collection.
This beautiful label includes an image of Adelphean sisters at Wesleyan circa 1900. The gold border includes our woodland violet as drawn on a 1908 cover of The Adelphean surrounded by a trim from the original sheet music of Marche des Adelphiennes, an 1883 composition written for our earliest sisters.
We introduce to you, True Spirit. This proprietary red blend – from our award-winning winemaker Todd Heth – exhibits dark blackberry, bing cherry and plum notes perfectly into layers of coffee and tobacco. The finish is dry with long lasting berry fruit. Silky but firm tannins, this wine is enjoyable now but has the ability to age well in the cellar.
