Twin Stars:Â
On every Theta badge since 1870, the Twin Stars have shined. Over 250,000 members have since worn the Theta badge, understanding the special meaning of the Twin Stars. The badge fastened above our hearts reminds us of the connection we share through ritual and sisterhood with members today, tomorrow, and from decades past.
We introduce you to Twin Stars. Our Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara County experiences a lengthy and cool growing season that is similar to the climate of the Burgundy region of east-central France. Unlike Burgundy, our Pinot Noir experiences dense fog that rolls in off the Pacific Ocean; this fog contributes to the ideal climate for Pinot Noir, offering just enough moisture to be beneficial without lingering too long.
Twin Stars has aromas of cherries, raspberries, blackberries, and brown sugar with notes of baking spices. On the palate, the wine opens with bright, fruit flavors of strawberries, leading to a round mouthfeel on the mid-palate and soft, velvety tannins on a long, elegant finish.
Forever Linked:Â
Thetas are forever linked through the bonds of sisterhood - one that is best enjoyed in the company of one another. One of Theta’s symbols is the pansy: a flower that may look delicate but is in fact, a resilient and long-lasting flower that can withstand change in its environment. Theta - just like the pansy - is a sisterhood built by the strength of support that is ready to endure whatever comes her way.
We introduce to you “Forever Linked”. From the chalky soil of the Carneros region in southern Napa Valley, this gem exhibits lush green apple and bright grapefruit notes while dancing across your palate. This stunning wine is light and friendly with very subtle vanilla and pear blossom hints on the nose. Balanced fruit with tart acidity makes this wine a classic example of Premium Napa Chardonnay.
Asbury Reserve:Â
On January 27, 1870, four women established an organization of support and empowerment in a male-dominated educational landscape. Among the first women admitted to Indiana Asbury University, the founders of Kappa Alpha Theta envisioned a sisterhood that would stretch far beyond Greencastle, Indiana.
The Asbury Reserve series utilizes historical imagery to honor the legacy created on the Asbury campus that late winter afternoon.
We introduce you to “Asbury Reserve.” This proprietary red blend - from our award-winning winemaker Todd Heth - exhibits dark blackberry, bing cherry, and plum notes perfectly into layers of coffee and tobacco. The finish is dry with long-lasting berry fruit. Silky but firm tannins, this wine is enjoyable now but has the ability to age well in the cellar.
Black & Gold:Â
For more than 150 years, the black and gold kite has remained the most recognizable symbol of our beloved Fraternity. Walking proudly to the front of the chapel, our founders proudly donned their kite badges for all to see that the sisterhood of Kappa Alpha Theta was taking flight. The Black & Gold Brut was created in honor of celebrating the best of times with our Theta sisters.
We introduce to you “Black & Gold”. This premium sparkling wine - meticulously and artfully made using the traditional champagne method - rivals anything found in the best Champagne houses in Épernay and Reims. Blended superbly from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this magnificent Napa Valley Brut exhibits rich fruit aromatics of strawberry and delicate white cherry that follow through to a creamy mid-palate accompanied with highlights of lime and wet minerality and a lingering vibrant finish.
Cake Basket:Â
As a young college woman, Bettie Locke would share baked goods with her brother and his Phi Gamma Delta brothers. Because of her brother’s membership and her support for the chapter, the brothers of Phi Gamma Delta extended a badge to Bettie. She said that only if she could be a fully initiated member would she wear it. The Phi Gams declined. As a result, Bettie went on to found Kappa Alpha Theta, the first Greek-letter fraternity for women.
To share their congratulations, the men of Phi Gamma Delta gifted a cake basket. In 2016, the original cake basket was donated by Bettie Locke Hamilton’s family to Kappa Alpha Theta headquarters, where it resides today underneath a portrait of Bettie herself.
We introduce you to our flagship Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Cake Basket. This is a premium and classic representation of the appellation’s preeminent varietal. Notes of black cherry, blackberry, and plum are complemented by hints of toasted oak, dried currant, and baking spice. Fine-grained tannins and ample brightness on the palate give way to a polished mouthfeel and exceptionally long finish.
Together Theta:Â
When Bettie Locke, Alice Allen, Bettie Tipton, and Hannah Fitch wore their new badges to chapel at Indiana Asbury on March 14, 1870, the kite became the symbol of membership in Kappa Alpha Theta. The badge serves as a reminder that, regardless of backgrounds and differences, Thetas share a common love for an organization that values deep, caring, and supportive friendships. Together, Thetas are an embodiment of that spirit.
We introduce you to Together Theta, our 2021 Rosé of Cabernet Sauvignon. The watermelon and strawberry notes burst out of the glass. When served cool on a warm day, the juicy acidity of the 2021 Rosé makes for a very refreshing and versatile wine, perfect to share on any occasion. Look for the hidden imagery in the rose petals.
