As sure as the lambent fire of inquisitiveness glows in Mensans, the bright, berry aromas and radiant flavor pairings of our 2020 Pinot Noir will light up your senses. With the proper complement of cherry, raspberry, and blackberry aromas, cleverly intertwined with unmistakable notes of brown sugar and baking spices, this Pinot Noir exhibits show-stopping fragrance. On the palate, the wine opens with the fresh, alluring presence of strawberry, leading to a round mouthfeel on the mid-palate and soft, velvety tannins for an elegant finish. A lambent expression of passionate flavor pairings and brilliantly delicate aromas.
We introduce you to Lambent. Our Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara County experiences a lengthy and cool growing season that is similar to the climate of the Burgundy region of east-central France. Unlike Burgundy, our Pinot Noir experiences dense fog that rolls in off the Pacific Ocean; this fog contributes to the ideal climate for Pinot Noir, offering just enough moisture to be beneficial without lingering too long.

We introduce you to Imagination. Hailing from the cool and foggy climate for the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County, this beautiful medium-bodied wine was grown slowly to build intense flavors over time. This wine was aged in French oak and displays a beautiful balance of fruit, oak and liveliness on the palate and exhibits lush mango and toasted almond. Balanced fruit with tarte acidity makes this wine a classic example of Premium Russian River Chardonnay.

A curious meeting: In 1946, two high-minded British aristocrats, Roland Berrill and Lancelot Lionel Ware established Mensa after a chance meeting. Where did the two Mensa founders meet one year prior?

This proprietary red blend – from our award-winning winemaker Todd Heth – exhibits dark blackberry, bing cherry, and plum notes perfectly into layers of coffee and tobacco. The finish is dry with long-lasting berry fruit. Silky but firm tannins, this wine is enjoyable now but has the ability to age well in the cellar.

Our Rose of Cabernet 2021 hails from the Russian River Valley, offering a delightful expression of Cabernet Sauvignon in rosé form. Vibrant aromas of fresh strawberries and watermelon precede flavors of red berries and citrus zest. A crisp acidity and a hint of floral notes on the finish make this rosé a perfect companion for sunny days.
