Old Main:Â
At the heart of Bethany College sits Old Main. This grand academic building has fostered creativity and expression for more than 160 years, including serving as the home of the Neotrophian Literary Society, an organization that allowed students to practice and demonstrate their skills in poetry, public speaking and writing essays. The controversial voting practices of the Neotrophian Literary Society brought our eight founders together. Before the Founders House, Old Main is where the Founders’ work was conducted. This National History Landmark is the birthplace of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.
We introduce you to our Old Main Pinot Noir. From the Russian River Valley AVA of Sonoma County, this beautiful wine is influenced mostly by the fog of the AVA and is very aromatic, with a velvet mouthfeel, and has a fruit character that is ripe and intense.
Sweethearts Divine:Â
A Delta Tau Delta sweetheart is so much more than a pretty face, someone who brings treats by the shelter and a name on the composite. A true Delt sweetheart symbolizes all that is beautiful and good with the Fraternity. A Delt sweetheart holds a special place in the heart and soul of every Delt and is personified in the classic Delt song “Sweethearts Divine.”
Elegant and loyal to all with a hint of sweet, we introduce you to our Sweethearts Divine Chardonnay. From the chalky soil of the Carneros region in southern Napa Valley, this gem exhibits lush green apple and bright grapefruit notes while dancing across your palate. This stunning wine is light and friendly with very subtle vanilla and pear blossom hints on the nose. Balanced fruit with tarte acidity makes this wine a classic example of Premium Napa Chardonnay.
John C. Johnson - Founders Red:Â
Always intensely interested in government, Johnson served two terms in the West Virginia House of Delegates. He actively corresponded with many of his Delt brothers and joyfully conducted pilgrimages to Bethany College. One of Johnson’s favorite pastimes was conducting tours of Bethany and pointing out the room where Delta Tau Delta was founded.

In his honor, we introduce to you, John C. Johnson. This proprietary red blend – from award-winning winemaker Todd Heth – exhibits dark blackberry, bing cherry and plum notes perfectly into layers of coffee and tobacco. The finish is dry with long lasting berry fruit. With silky but firm tannins, this wine is enjoyable now but has the ability to age well in the cellar.
Four Stars:Â
The beginning of every Delt’s journey lies within the corners of the four stars. Inspired by our most sacred place, we bring to you the embodiment of excellence in this pristine vintage. As each Delt’s journey culminates in a celebration, this fine libation is a wonderful complement to life’s successes and celebrations.
We introduce you to Four Stars. This premium sparkling wine – meticulously and artfully made in the traditional champagne method – rivals anything found from the best Champagne houses in Épernay and Reims. Blended superbly from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this magnificent Napa Valley Brut exhibits rich fruit aromatics of strawberry and delicate white cherry that follows through to a creamy mid-palate accompanied with highlights of lime and wet minerality and a lingering vibrant finish.
Golden Lyre:Â
The Lyre symbolizes wisdom and moderation. In Greek mythology, Hermes is credited with its invention and gifted it to Apollo, the god of prophecy and music. For Delts the power represented by the lyre goes beyond the rote and the mundane. The lyre is emblematic of inherent ability, intellectual strength and moral superiority. As the music of the lyre enriched the lives of the ancients, so does the power of the lyre enrich the life of every good Delt.
We introduce you to our flagship Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Golden Lyre. This is a premium and classic representation of the appellation’s preeminent varietal. Notes of black cherry, blackberry and plum are complemented by hints of toasted oak, dried currant and baking spice. Fine-grained tannins and ample brightness on the palate give way to a polished mouthfeel and exceptionally long finish.
Karnea:Â
Named after the ancient festival of Apollo, Karnea has been a cherished Delt event since 1869. At the center of this vibrant brotherhood, Delts gather for Karnea, the greatest of all Delt events, in cities large and small throughout North America. This limited-release bottle features landmark imagery from the three most visited locales: Cleveland, Chicago, and Pittsburgh.Â
We introduce you to Karnea, our 2021 Rosé of Cabernet Sauvignon. The watermelon and strawberry notes burst out of the glass. When served cool on a warm day, the juicy acidity of the 2021 Rosé makes for a very refreshing and versatile wine, perfect to share on any occasion. Look for the hidden imagery in the rose petals.
